Eyedentidy, 2024

This project was more simplistic in meaning, but a much more intense fabrication process.

Starting from two black soles and a fabric pattern, these sneakers slowly began to take shape as cut duck cloth sheets were ironed with batting and lining, then carefully sewn together to form the complete upper portion of the shoe. Holes were punched out and grommets were added.

Eventually, the tongues and uppers were attentively stitched to the pre-made sole. Shortly after, the red bottoms were attached with a form of liquid cement, then shaven down to match the profile of the shoe.

Ultimately, this was a very unique and unexpectedly complex process that forced craftsmanship challenges I had not previously faced.
