Cthulu Booklet, 2023

With this project being from a beginner graphic design course, our task was to simply choose a chapter of text or a short story to redesign in a more traditional book format. I chose a chapter from one of my favorite short stories, Call of Cthulu. I wanted the type and titles to have a early 20th century style and presence to them, almost as if they were ripped from an original prints of the text.

The cover, both engaging, confusing, and disturbing, much like the story itself, is a symbol of the events of the story. With many cults and scientists alike going mad with knowledge not meant for the feasible brains of mankind.
